Regulation

Divided Congress Spurs Regulatory Action

The 112th Congress continues to be politically divided amongst the administration and Congress.  Thus far, the Administration has utilized various tools and resources– namely federal agencies – to carry out and implement their agenda.  Remaining involved and informed in the regulatory process is equally as important as staying involved in the legislative process.  MEMA offers several ways in which member companies can participate.

Resources

MEMA Regulatory Issues and Active Rulemakings

MEMA is engaged with several federal agencies on various regulatory issues impacting motor vehicle suppliers. Visit this page to access links to the top issues, information on active rulemakings, copies of filed comments, and other references and resources.

Action Center

MEMA’s Action Center is a valuable tool that allows motor vehicle parts suppliers to weigh in on key legislative and regulatory issues. Members of AASA, HDMA, MERA and OESA can take action in just minutes.

How to Get Involved

Regulation can impact the motor vehicle supplier industry directly and indirectly. In addition to participating in MEMA RAC and/or ad hoc working groups, individual companies may want to voice their own comments and feedback relative to their specific product lines, technologies, or services. Visit this page to find out helpful information about how to file comments.

Regulatory Affairs Committee (RAC)

The purpose of this committee is to serve as a key coordinator of regulatory priorities and to assist, guide, and develop consensus positions on regulatory issues impacting the motor vehicle supplier industry. On key regulatory issues, when necessary, MEMA establishes ad hoc working groups to develop industry consensus comments.
