AASA Launches ‘Morgan Stanley Aftermarket Metrics Report’

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) and Morgan Stanley, a leading global financial services firm, have collaborated to provide a unique quarterly report showing the metrics affecting the total automotive aftermarket industry, “Morgan Stanley Aftermarket Metrics Report.”

“This is an important new benefit, exclusively for our members, the North American automotive aftermarket suppliers,” said Steve Handschuh, president and COO of AASA. “This quarterly report, produced in cooperation with Morgan Stanley, will give our members valuable insight on the performance of the aftermarket based on key financial metrics of leading public companies from a respected authority,” he added.

The quarterly reports will provide AASA members updates on key indicators on more than 25 companies across the automotive aftermarket supply chain including: retailers/distributors, parts suppliers, tire manufacturers, automotive repair chains, major auto dealers, and auto parts salvage.

Key metric categories include:

  • Stock Metrics: Share price, Market cap, Enterprise value and Share performance: month-to-date, quarter-to-date, year-to-date and year-over-year, and EPS estimates
  • Valuation Metrics: Price/earnings ratio, Enterprise value/earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), Dividend yield
  • Debt Metrics: Fixed charge coverage, Net Debt to Ebitdar, Net Debt to Capitalization, S&P Debt Rating, S&P Debt Outlook
  • Operating Metrics: Sales growth, Gross Profit/sales, EBIT /sales, Interest/ sales, Inventory change vs prior year, and the Sales to Inventory Gap
