Government Affairs Committee (GAC) - MEMA's legislative priorities are determined each calendar year by the Government Affairs Committee, a working group made up of executives from MEMA's three market segment associations. The committee guides staff in establishing specific legislative, regulatory and public affairs goals and develops plans to help achieve them. Participation is open to all MEMA member companies. Motor Vehicle Safety Working Group - Vehicle safety is extremely important to MEMA and it's member companies. The Motor Vehicle Safety Working Group was created to provide members the opportunity to discuss developments related to vehicle safety and to interface with Congress and the Administration. Brand Protection Council - The Brand Protection Council was created to help address the issues of counterfeiting, diversion, non-compliant products and intellectual property rights within the automotive industry. The group is open to all of MEMA's market segments. The council meets four times a year and helps dictate MEMA and the industry's collective actions on various intellectual property issues.
