Health and Safety Resources for Suppliers in a Coronavirus Environment
MEMA and OESA have partnered with the Alliance for Automotive Innovation to provide resources to help suppliers restart manufacturing facilities. The booklet, “Health and Safety Resources for Suppliers in A Coronavirus Environment,” includes recommended practices from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). It also features links to key governmental resources, answers to frequently asked questions, and recommendations for important and reasonable procedures that can be applied in alignment with recently released guidelines released by the White House Coronavirus Task Force.

U.S. Guidance for Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce
MEMA urged Dept. of Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to update its initial guidance and clarify the essential status of motor vehicle suppliers, which they did.
April 24, 2020 - Version 3.0 Guidance from CISA
In version 3.0, CISA included the following language in the transportation and logistics section: “Workers critical to the manufacturing, distribution, sales, rental, leasing, repair, and maintenance of vehicles and other transportation equipment (including electric vehicle charging stations) and the supply chains that enable these operations to facilitate continuity of travel-related operations for essential workers.” This is in addition to the existing language on automotive repair, maintenance, and transportation equipment manufacturing.

MEMA Webinar “Understanding the Main Street Lending Program of Treasury and the Fed”
The April 14 webinar from MEMA and Arent Fox delved into the basic parameters of the Main Street Lending Program, run jointly by the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve. The program is designed to provide loans and loan guarantees to assist companies weather the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
