Energy Conferees Still Working - MEMA Urges Inclusion of Industry Priorities

Last week, House and Senate Energy Bill conferees continued discussions about completing work on comprehensive energy legislation.  The bill passed by the Senate earlier this year includes MEMA-supported priorities including the Vehicle Innovation Act, which directs the Department of Energy (DOE) vehicle technology research and development activities to include suppliers and a focus on deployment to get technology onto vehicles more quickly, and reauthorization of the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA).

MEMA sent a letter to all conferees encouraging completion of this bill and inclusion of these priorities.  A copy of the letter can be found here.

It is uncertain and increasingly unlikely that energy legislation will be completed before Congress adjourns this week, but MEMA will continue to push for passage of these important provisions. For more information, please contact  Catherine Boland.
