The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is expected to be signed on November 30, 2018 by the U.S., Canada and Mexico. To help suppliers better understand the USMCA, MEMA and OESA will host an informational briefing on the agreement on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Laurel Manor in Livonia, Mich.
Subject matter experts from MEMA, Arent Fox and EY who have been involved in USMCA negotiations and review meetings will present timely and important information of direct interest to suppliers.
Ann Wilson, MEMA senior vice president of government affairs, will review the status and how the agreement got to where it is. Wilson will then be joined by David R. Hamill, partner, international trade group, Arent Fox, to answer common supplier questions with regards to the USMCA.
Armando F. Beteta, executive director, and Javier Quijano, senior manager, EY Global Trade, will discuss approaches for suppliers to prepare for the USMCA once it is inacted.
Following the formal event, there will be an in-depth bonus session focusing on details of the agreement of interest to trade specialists.
