Date: September 12, 2018
As of 10 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, Sept. 12, two of MEMA’s offices appear to be in the path of Hurricane Florence: Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and Washington, D.C. Employees based in the North Carolina office -- which includes staff of MEMA’s divisions, AASA (Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association) and HDMA (Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association) -- and MEMA staff in both locations have been advised to take all necessary precautions and be prepared to work remotely until the storm passes. Both offices may be closed on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 13-14. Members will be able to reach staff via e-mail and cell phone, although there may be some delay due to possible power outages. Members needing immediate assistance should contact firstname.lastname@example.org. OESA and MERA teams in the Southfield, Michigan office will operate as usual.
