MEMA States that New Immigration Rules Will Hurt U.S. Economy

Date: June 29, 2020

Motor vehicle parts manufacturers and U.S. jobs have long benefitted from the entrance of highly skilled, legal immigrants, into the workplace. This strategic use of technical expertise has fostered American jobs and strengthened U.S. manufacturing. As written, Proclamation 10052 will negatively impact our ability to remain globally competitive thereby hurting our industry and the American economy.

MEMA is working closely with our members to further assess the impact of the President’s order. We will continue to advocate for a strong immigration system that meets the needs of our industry and the entire nation, allowing for continued legal immigration of critical workers.
