Welcome to “White House Watch,” a just-the-facts look at Trump Administration decisions and actions that affect members of MEMA and its four divisions (AASA, HDMA, MERA, OESA). Executive Orders

President Trump signed a few more executive orders last week.  The list is below.

Confirmed Cabinet Secretaries

Betsy DeVos has been confirmed as Education Secretary, Jeff Sessions confirmed as Attorney General and Tom Price for Health and Human Services Secretary. 

Nominees Awaiting Full Senate Vote

On Monday, the Senate was expected to vote on Steve Mnuchin for Treasury Secretary and David Shulkin for Veterans’ Affairs.

Today, the Senate is expected to vote on Linda McMahon for administrator of the Small Business Administration.  Other nominees waiting for a vote include Scott Pruitt for Environmental Protection Agency, Mick Mulvaney for Office and Management and Budget, Wilbur Ross for Commerce Secretary, Rick Perry for Energy Secretary, Ben Carson for Housing and Urban Development Secretary, Ryan Zinke for Interior Secretary and Linda McMahon for Small Business Administration

Nominees Still in Committees

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has rescheduled Labor nominee Andrew Puzder’s hearing for February 16. Robert Lighthizer, U.S. Trade Representative nominee has been referred to the Senate Finance Committee.  Agriculture Secretary nominee Sonny Perdue’s hearing in front of Senate Agriculture is expected later this month.
