BTC Think Tanks
The Business Technology Council (BTC) has five Think Tanks focused on specific topics that meet monthly to discuss issues, new ideas and potential new solutions. The sharing of ideas among members already has provided real value to participants. Think Tanks are a member benefit for all BTC members, and members are encouraged to involve others from their companies.
Congratulations to the 2023 Think Tank of the Year, Emerging Vehicle Technologies!
The 2023 Think Tank topics were:
E-commerce Standards – Jim Naso
Generate a general understanding of the best way to create and provide attributes about a specific product. Provide insight as to how these Attributes are used in the e-Commerce space by retailers and e-tailers.
Data Analytics & BI – Marylou Hornung
Engage with other industry thought leaders as we work together to identify how business intelligence impacts the automotive industry, predict what the impacts are and when they are likely to occur and identify the areas the industry should focus on. For 2023 the team is working on creating the next phases of Data Analytics and its definition.
Emerging Vehicle Technologies – Ben Johnson
Engage with other industry thought leaders as we work together to identify emerging technologies – those recently introduced or which we know to be imminent – and analyze the likely impacts to the automotive industry, when they are likely to occur and offer insights how the industry should be prepared to respond. For 2023 our primary focus is on the continued evolution of the EV and Electrification of the vehicle while also looking at the impact of AI.
E-tailing Readiness – Dave Haun
The e-Tailing Think Tank’s mission is to explore issues and creative solutions in eCommerce/E-Tailing as it relates to the Automotive Aftermarket. We’ll collectively mine experts and peers alike to discover best-in-class strategies to overcome both front-end and back-end hurdles for the benefit of the entire industry. For 2023, the team will focus on reviewing eCommerce outlets to better understand how manufacturers data is currently being utilized and make recommendations on improvements overall for the advancement of the industry.
Cybersecurity – Hemant Damani
The Cybersecurity Think Tank concentrates on helping overcome typical security issues. Our objective is to develop and exchange ideas, regardless of the topic—compliance, phishing schemes, user awareness, or technical controls. We'll concentrate on the main dangers to our companies and how best to address them. Similar to information security conferences, networking groups offer a convenient opportunity to meet, exchange ideas with, and work with other information security professionals. InfoSec professionals that actively participate in networking groups may remain on top of the latest threat trends and learn about them before they have an impact on our enterprises, which helps us better position our businesses for the future. Our team is entirely dedicated to information security.
Think Tanks compete against each other in presenting their findings and deliverables prior to the Technology Conference.
