Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA)
Tim Kraus is the president and chief operating officer of HDMA, and is a vice president of MEMA. An industry veteran, Kraus joined HDMA in 2004. HDMA is MEMA’s commercial vehicle market-segment-association, exclusively serving suppliers of components to the commercial vehicle industry, both on and off-highway. HDMA’s mission is to advance the industry’s image and the business interests of its members.
Kraus is responsible for the overall business operations of HDMA and is its primary spokesperson to the industry. He is an industry advocate and provides leadership for the staff and membership on industry issues and for the various events, forums, and councils of HDMA. He also serves on the editorial boards of industry trade publications and is active in several industry associations and foundations.
Prior to joining MEMA, Kraus served more than 20 years in executive positions with various motor vehicle industry suppliers. He has remained active in HDMA and MEMA since the early 1980s. He previously served on the HDMA board of directors and its executive committee and was chairman 2001 and 2002. Kraus was also a 14-year member of the Heavy Duty Business Forum and served on its board of governors and as chairman in 2001. Kraus holds a BSBA from the University of Minnesota in St. Paul, MN.
