Don’t Get Your ADAS Kicked: AAPEX ‘Let’s Tech & Tour’ Session Is Focused on Servicing Advanced Technology-Equipped Vehicles

Date: October 27, 2016

AASA and Seyfer Automotive to Examine Special Operations Required to Service Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Tour of AAPEX Exhibits

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Vehicles equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) require special service operations or the advanced technology may be inadvertently disabled. The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) and Seyfer Automotive will present a “Let’s Tech” session at AAPEX 2016 focused on servicing ADAS-equipped vehicles.

“Don’t Get Your ADAS Kicked,” presented by Chris Gardner of AASA and Donny Seyfer of Seyfer Automotive, is slated for 10-10:20 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, at the AAPEX TV/Let’s Tech Lounge (Level 2 Lobby). Gardner and Seyfer will discuss how routine maintenance such as brake jobs or front end alignments can result in disabling lane change warning or adaptive cruise control functionality. The session also will include a tour of advanced technology exhibits at AAPEX.

Let's Tech is a new program featured at AAPEX 2016 to bring more attention to technology in the automotive aftermarket. Presentations are free and are 20 minutes or less.

AAPEX 2016 will be held Tuesday, Nov. 1 through Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas, with AAPEXedu sessions starting on Monday, Oct. 31. It represents the $328.2 billion global aftermarket auto parts industry, and is co-owned by the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), the light vehicle aftermarket division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), and the Auto Care Association. For more information, visit www.aapexshow.com or e-mail: info@aapexshow.com. On social media, follow AAPEX at: #AAPEX16.
