Highest-Rated Speaker Gary Silberg Returns to the 2020 AASA Vision Conference to Discuss the Future of Repair in the Age of Automotive Semiconductors

Partner, National Automotive Leader, with KPMG to Share Valuable Insights on the Next 5-10 Years in a Changing Industry
Date: December 13, 2019

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – AASA announces Gary Silberg, Partner, National Automotive Industry Leader, with KPMG, as the returning highest-rated speaker for the 2020 AASA Vision Conference, which will be held March 26, 2020 in Rosemont, Ill.

In his session, Gary will discuss KPMGs newest study, “Automotive Semiconductors: The New ICE Age” and the future of automotive innovation. He will highlight the shift from the internal combustion engine to the internal computing engine and the impact this change in the electrical architecture of vehicles will have on the repair industry.

Gary has more than 25 years of business experience, including more than 15 in the automotive industry. Gary has advised numerous domestic and multinational companies in areas of strategy, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. For the past five years, he has focused on the intersection of technology and the automotive industry with groundbreaking research on self-driving cars, connectivity and mobility demand services.

“We are extremely grateful that Gary will be joining us again for the 2020 AASA Vision Conference,” said Chris Gardner, Senior Vice President of AASA. “His take on the future of the industry will serve to prepare aftermarket leaders for big changes down the road.”

“Instead of thinking horsepower, consumers will be inclined to shop for cars with the best onboard computers and electronic systems,” Silberg says. “This shift has profound implications, for both the automotive and semiconductor industries. It will require new kinds of collaboration models between the players across the supply chain – and the integration of new players, such as software suppliers.”

The 2020 AASA Vision Conference will feature insights and perspectives on the latest trends and issues facing the aftermarket industry and highlights the need for close industry collaboration through programming that includes customer speakers and the annual Channel Excellence Award.

Additional information about the 2020 AASA Vision Conference can be accessed by visiting aasavision.com. This year’s event will focus on “Collaborating for a Vibrant Aftermarket Future” with sessions covering everything from global sourcing to electrification and how the industry can work together to succeed.
