RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers announced the formation of its newest member network, the Council of Remanufacturing Excellence (CoRE).

CoRE brings together the expanded resources of MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers and two legacy peer group councils: Remanufacturing Business Council and Remanufacturing Technology & Operations Council. Through their participation in CoRE, remanufacturers and their suppliers in the automotive and commercial vehicle aftermarket will have a focused platform and greater access to the value within their membership group—MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers.

"MEMA has a long history of serving the needs of executives and professionals in the remanufacturing community," said John Chalifoux, Chief Operating Officer, MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers and Chief Sustainability Officer, MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association. "As the world's attention on sustainability and the circular economy continues to grow, the Council of Remanufacturing Excellence is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of our members."

The newly formed executive committee is poised to steer CoRE towards new heights of success. Executive committee members include:

  • Matthew Black – Product Line Manager - Remanufacturing, Core Products, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC
  • Brad Moss – Director of Technology, Research & Development, DieselCore
  • Patrick Muldoon – Managing Director, Hilco Global
  • Sue Williams – Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Endural, LLC

"CoRE stands as a beacon of collective action, uniting like-minded businesses to exchange best practices and drive innovation," said Moss. "Together, we are championing a shift towards sustainable manufacturing practices as the norm."

The inaugural in-person meeting of CoRE will be on June 24, 2024, immediately preceding the MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers Remanufacturing Roadshow & Annual Conference on June 25-26, 2024. The remanufacturing-focused activities on all three days will take place in Greenville, S.C.

"The formation of CoRE and its executive committee represent a pivotal moment for the remanufacturing community," said Nikki Rankin, Director, Councils & Engagement, MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers and CoRE lead. "By combining our efforts and expertise, we're better positioned to drive sustainable practices and foster innovation within the industry."
