MEMA Sponsors DC Auto Show, Hosts Safety Panel

Date: January 19, 2018

MEMA will once again play a leadership role at the 2018 Washington Auto Show as a sponsor for the January event. The Washington Auto Show offers Washingtonians a display of mobility technologies and hundreds of new vehicles and concepts from 38 domestic and import manufacturers.

Unlike other auto shows around the country, the Washington Auto Show is known as the “public policy show” and convenes leaders in industry and government to tackle the most pressing issues facing the automotive sector over the course of its Public Policy Days, which includes “MobilityTalks International” on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 23-24. MobilityTalks International is a forum designed for governments from around the world to exchange ideas on best practices related to the emerging trends in transportation surrounding connected and autonomous vehicles.

On Thursday, January 25, MEMA will be hosting a panel at the Auto Show on vehicle safety, focusing on policy issues and safety technologies that will likely affect consumers in the coming year.  Panelists include Doug Patton, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, DENSO and David Zuby, Executive Vice President and Chief Research Officer for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

The Washington Auto Show will open to the public from Friday, January 26 through Sunday, February 4.

Registration for MobilityTalks International is available here. More information about the Washington Auto Show is here: www.washingtonautoshow.com.
