Second Day of the AASA Vision Conference Delivered Customized Experiences and Insights for Aftermarket Executives and Channel Partner Audiences

The annual conference provided two virtual tracks covering the recent global supply chain disruptions, the future of electrification, and investment insights to attending aftermarket executives and channel partners.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – The second day of the AASA Vision Conference provided custom tracks and sessions for aftermarket supplier executives and non-members, including channel partners. This format enabled each set of audiences to obtain relevant insights and perspectives from the industry’s first virtual conference. 
 
Chris Gardner, AASA Senior Vice President, opened the conference’s second day with a session highlighting AASA’s councils and future opportunities for industry collaboration.
 
Mark Kaufman, Global Director – Electric Vehicle Marketing & Distribution, Ford Motor Company, gave attendees an inside look at the strategic decisions behind the launch of the Mustang Mach-E. Brian Daugherty, MEMA Chief Technology Officer, joined the session to address the impact of battery electric vehicles on the aftermarket and cover insights from the AASA/Strategy& report on the effect of vehicle technologies on replacement rates.
 
Gary Silberg, Partner, Strategy, KPMG, explored the shift from the internal combustion engine to the internal computing engine and the impact that the proliferation of semiconductors will have on the repair industry.
 
Paul McCarthy, President & COO, AASA, provided AASA supplier members exclusive access to unfiltered feedback from customer CEOs, insights, and ideas for the future of industry collaboration. Scott Sonnemaker, Group President, North American Automotive, Genuine Parts Company, presented this year’s Customer Spotlight and led a candid and insightful conversation with suppliers during the annual member-only session.
 
Barry Neal, Partner, Roland Berger took a deep dive into the current and future state of the global supply chain environment and identified key takeaways for aftermarket retailers, WDs, and service professionals during a special track for non-members, channel partners and the investment community. Panelists Mike Montani, Managing Director, Evercore ISI; Carolina Jolly, Analyst, Gabelli & Company Inc.; and Joe Sparacino, Managing Director, Head of Aftermarket Investment Banking, Stifel, shared insights into the future of the aftermarket industry from an investment analyst perspective.
 
The AASA Vision Conference will explore more critical issues and trends on the event’s third and final day. These will include vehicle data access, supply chain disruption, new patterns in global sourcing, the presentation of the 2020 Channel Excellence Award, and more.
