AIAG - Forced Labor Due Diligence Requirements: Joint Letter
For the first time, six leading manufacturers — Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Stellantis and Toyota — have come together in a joint letter to suppliers, signaling a unified approach to forced labor due diligence.
This isn’t to be taken as just another memo. It’s a clear message that the industry is aligned on what responsible supply chains look like in today’s evolving regulatory landscape. Supported by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), this industry collaboration created the Forced Labor Due Diligence Program, featuring a standardized reporting template (DDRT), access to trusted risk screening tools and comprehensive learning resources — all designed to make meeting government and OEM compliance requirements more straightforward and consistent.
Starting September 2025, OEMs will identify select suppliers that will be required to report forced labor risks through the DDRT, with broader supplier participation rolling out through mid-2026. For suppliers, using this industry-aligned program means less guesswork, fewer duplicated requests and clearer guidance — helping you be compliant while focusing on what matters most: building an ethical, sustainable supply chain.
