Right to Repair: Facility Visits and In-District Meetings

To earn support from members of Congress for the Right to Repair, they must understand our industry and its impact on their district or state. The most effective method for achieving this understanding is through firsthand experiences with MEMA members, including in-person meetings and visiting local facilities.

That’s why in-person meetings are so important to our advocacy strategy, particularly for the Right to Repair issue. By inviting policymakers to engage in in-depth discussions or witness local facilities’ operations, we provide them with invaluable insights into our industry’s challenges and opportunities.

MEMA does the hard work, so you can focus on the handshakes

Setting up a meeting at a legislator’s district office or hosting a facility visit requires planning, but the MEMA team provides support, content, and feedback every step of the way so you can focus on telling your story.

Step 1: Complete our interest form.

Step 2: We then provide all the information you need to schedule a meeting or visit with your legislator, including a template invitation letter and submission instructions.

Step 3: When a meeting or visit is on the calendar, we provide the necessary information to prepare. A MEMA team member can also attend.

Step 4: After your meeting or visit is completed, we provide template thank-you letters for your legislator and their staff and a feedback form.

Questions? If you have questions about the facility visit process, contact the MEMA DC team via email.
