Improve Air Quality in Transportation and Harmonize Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting

MEMA vehicle suppliers are committed to achieving a cleaner transportation future by engaging with U.S. EPA and NHTSA on the next iteration of vehicle emissions and fuel economy standards for passenger vehicles and heavy trucks, and reaching the Administration’s economy-wide carbon neutral goal by 2050. And vehicle suppliers are committed to sustainability in manufacturing, supply chain, and lifesaving and environmentally friendly technologies and deployment. At the same time, requirements for Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) reporting continue to grow.

MEMA urges policy makers to ensure suppliers are able to equally compete for federal funds, to conduct oversight on EPA, ensure national-level emissions requirements, and support investments in infrastructure. MEMA also urges policymakers to consider critical actions for the development of greenhouse gas reporting requirements, including phase-in periods, harmonize reporting and requirements nationally and globally and streamline reporting requirements.
