Facility Visit Resources
The MEMA DC team will reach out to you with the contact information for the scheduler who works in the legislator's office.
To contact the scheduler, start by personalizing this letter template. Use this letter, and the contact information MEMA will provide you, to invite your representative to your facility. Please copy the MEMA DC Team.
Keep in mind that schedulers are always balancing many requests. If you do not hear back within five business days, please follow up with a call to the scheduler. Use our discussion guide for your conversation.
After the scheduler finalizes your visit date, let the MEMA DC team know the details so the team can confirm a MEMA staff member to attend as well.
There are a few things you should do to prepare for the facility visit; these are outlined in a meeting prep guide. MEMA will provide you with talking points on key issues and is happy to hold prep calls with you or your team.
On the day of your visit, your preparation will pay off! Remember a few do’s and don’ts.
Thank you for hosting your visit! The final steps in the process are thanking the legislator and their staff and providing feedback to MEMA’s DC team:
- Complete our short feedback form to let us how it went.
- If the legislator had questions that you need to follow up on, prepare your answer. If you need help or research support, please contact Carter Salwin.
- Use our templates to send thank-you notes to your member of Congress and their staff. If there were follow-up questions you need to answer, include them in your letter.
