Heavy Duty Advanced Technology Council with Hendrickson's Jeff Zawacki

HDMA's Collin Shaw joins Jeff Zawacki at Hendrickson to talk about the Heavy Duty Advanced Technology Council (HDATC). Join HDATC today to attend the next meeting October 5-6.
Date: September 07, 2022

A Note from Jeff Zawacki, Chairman, HDATC:

I want to remind you all about what a great opportunity HDATC is within HDMA for your organization.

HDATC was started in 2019 — yes, way back before we all could even spell "COVID" — to provide a place for the technology leaders of your organizations to discuss, debate, and gain insights regarding the overwhelming explosion of advanced technology that our industry was and is experiencing. As suppliers to the heavy duty commercial vehicle industry, it can be extremely difficult to navigate these waters and understand which technologies are just buzz words and which will become transformative and shape the future of transportation as we know it.

HDATC provides an avenue for your technical leaders to expand their knowledge regarding current and future technologies, gain deeper understanding of the regulatory and legislative issues related to new technologies, and engage a broad network of peers, OEMs, and technology experts. The council meets twice a year and at these sessions, members have the opportunity to engage with market analysts, OEMs, major fleets, peers, and other technology experts to discuss the latest topics such as:

  • Autonomous Vehicles & Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

  • Vehicle Connectivity & Cybersecurity

  • Emissions & Fuel Economy

  • Electrification

HDATC’s next meeting is October 5-6 at the new Bendix Headquarters in Avon, OH. There’s still time to get your organization’s technology leaders on the roster so they can attend this next meeting and experience first-hand the exciting lineup of speakers we have planned. This meeting’s agenda includes:

  • Fleet Perspective on New Mobility from Craig Harper, Chief Sustainability Officer and EVP at J.B. Hunt

  • Fleet Panel on EV Infrastructure with Michael Michalski, Electrification Transformation Sr. Manager at PepsiCo and Paul Rosa, Senior Vice President, Procurement & Fleet Planning at Penske

  • Market Outlook from Justin Long, Managing Director, Transportation Research at Stephens, Inc.

  • Autonomous Perspective, CVSA & Regulations from Brent Hankins, Manager, Truck Programs at Kodiak Robotics

  • and more!

To nominate your technical lead, please contact Danielle Kaspar for the nomination form. If you have any questions about the council, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at  jzawacki@hendrickson-intl.com or to Brian Daugherty, executive director of HDATC.
