A former official in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) was sworn in on Aug. 26 as a member of the International Trade Commission (ITC).
Amy Karpel, who served the USTR for over 13 years, was the chief counsel for negotiations, legislation and administrative law. She was responsible for negotiating and putting international trade agreements into effect. Reports say she will hold her new position at the ITC until her term expires on June 16, 2023. She will replace Irving Williamson, whose term already expired.
