Haldex is moving brake adjusters production from Blue Springs, MO, to a lower-cost facility in Mexico. A total of 154 employees will be affected, with only a few being offered new positions in the company’s U.S. operations, according to an Oct. 8 statement from Haldex.
The move will begin immediately and should be completed during the fourth quarter of 2020.
This is part of a larger effort to streamline production that began in 2018 when machining of brake adjusters relocated from the United States to India. After this latest move, brake adjusters — which are Haldex’s largest product — will be manufactured in China, India, Hungary, Brazil and Mexico.
