MEMA is Urging Congress to Pass USMCA This Week

Date: September 10, 2019

MEMA is taking the lead to urge legislators on Capitol Hill to pass the United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA). Today, MEMA is joining the national social media effort, USCMA Day of Action, sponsored by the White House. Throughout the day, MEMA will take to social media to raise awareness of the USMCA and call for its passage in the U.S. Be sure to follow our posts using the hashtag #USMCAnow.

Tomorrow, MEMA will host the “Pass USMCA!” Legislative Fly-In event, where over 40 representatives from MEMA’s member companies will converge in Washington, D.C. to urge Congress to pass the USMCA as soon as possible. The event will begin with an introductory video from MEMA’s President and CEO Bill Long, which you can view on Youtube here. Then, participants will attend dozens of meetings with legislators to inform lawmakers how parts suppliers, the largest sector of US manufacturing jobs, require a North American supply chain that will enable U.S. manufacturers to remain competitive globally.

Please contact Bill Frymoyer by email at bfrymoyer@mema.org or call 202-312-9253 for more information about the event as well as MEMA’s efforts to urge legislators to pass the USMCA. You can follow the action on social media with the hashtags #SuppliersAreTheBestPart and #PassUSMCA.
