Nonessential Businesses? It's Complicated

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued an executive order on March 23 to keep “nonessential” workers at home to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Julie Fream, president and CEO of the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA), was quoted in Crain’s Detroit Business that the organization is seeking input from legal groups to determine if auto parts manufacturers are considered essential.
