Pallone, Schakowsky Introduce Bill to Update NCAP

Date: March 17, 2020

Last week, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone (D-N.J.-6) and Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce Chairwoman Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.-09) introduced H.R. 6256, which requires the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) to update the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) and the five star safety ratings.

MEMA has long supported efforts to update NCAP and the ratings, so welcomes this opportunity to respond to legislation and work with the Committee to move this bill forward. Please contact Catherine Boland with questions.
