The House of Representative is in recess this week through September 9 for the August district work period. The Senate is in session this week.
The Senate is expected to vote on the bipartisan budget deal this week as well as two dozen nominees before also departing Washington for the August recess. Additionally, there are a number of hearings and business meetings this week.
Also today, the Senate Finance Committee will hold a hearing on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement and hear from witnesses from a variety of industries including the Hon. Matt Blunt, president of the American Automotive Policy Council.
The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property will hold an oversight hearing of the U.S. Copyright Office on Tuesday. Register of Copyrights and U.S. Copyright Office Director Karyn Temple will testify.
Due to the recess, the MEMA Washington Insider will not be published August 6, 20, 27, and September 3. The Insider will be published as usual on Aug 13, then return to its normal schedule beginning Sept 10.
